A few months ago, Google started adding WiFi communication support to Smart Watches running Android Wear through 5.1. Although many Wear devices received this functionality, the LG G Watch R remained as one of those unlucky few that did not support it. LG promised to take care of the problem and they finally have.

The latest Wear update has started arriving over the air. Having WiFi on both your smartwatch and smartphone will allow them to communicate with each other as long as they’re connected to the same network. As opposed to a Bluetooth connection.
