Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain has been all over the news for the past few of days with details coming in that first hand reviewers have received their respective review copies ahead of the game’s official release.

So the first review came in from a french magazine and it was quite comprehensible as the magazine reviewers gave it a verdict of 17/20.

Here’s the picture which has surfaced the internet taken from the magazine,

Gameplay – 4 out of 5 stars

The Metal Gear game with the best gameplay, and with the most possibilities even though some aren’t that useful.

Graphics – 4  out of 5 stars

Game looks clean. Although, it clearly shows its cross-gen roots. Not the best looking game.

Sound – 4 out of 5 stars

A lot of tracks from the 80s and a nice sound ambiance.

Length – 4 outs of 5 stars

A long playthrough (more than 40 hours) but one that can be tedious at times.

A rich gameplay but also some tedious missions, a plot which promises so much and delivers so few, MGSV is as impressive as it leaves you unsatisfied. A good game, but one difficult to understand. Could it be Kojima’s last mystery?

Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain will be released on 1st September 2015 on PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

    I don’t trust this review simply because 4 stars x 4 = 16/20 not 17.

Even so an 8.5 is still a decent score, I mean I think The Last of Us received a few 7s and that’s an amazing game.
